Get ready to ride the rails in style! MTA New York City Transit and the New York Transit Museum are bringing out a selection of historic train cars for a special weekend celebration on the BMT Brighton Line. Program details and FAQ:

  • Parade of Trains runs rain or shine. Equipment, route, timing, and duration are subject to change.
  • Trains run between Brighton Beach and Kings Highway starting at 11am ET. The last train will board by 3:50pm. Each trip will be approximately 10 minutes and riders can expect wait times between rides. Trains run continuously from Brighton Beach to Kings Highway and back. Passengers may only board at Brighton Beach and Kings Highway. All boarding and exiting trains at Brighton Beach will take place on the interior two platforms. All boarding and exiting trains at Kings Highway will be on the Manhattan-bound platform.
  • Please walk on platforms and stay behind the yellow line. Do not sit directly on the platform.
  • While on the vintage trains, please keep arms inside the train. Walking between train cars during rides is not allowed.
  • The first car of the train is a magical place for everyone. Please consider our youngest visitors and allow children to look out the front window.
  • Help us preserve these vintage cars for future generations! Do not eat or drink while on board and leave all original elements where they belong.
  • Children ages 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Photography and video recording are permitted. However, tripods, stands, selfie sticks, and external lights may not be used. All photographs taken are for personal use only and permission to photograph may be revoked at any time.
  • The winner of the raffle will be contacted via email.
  • Accessibility: Kings Highway is an ADA-accessible station with an elevator to the Manhattan-bound platform located on the south side of Kings Highway, west of 16th Street. Please check The MTA app and visit the MTA’s Elevator and Escalator Status page before you travel for real-time elevator status information. The elevator for Kings Highway station is located between 15th Street and 16th Street. There is no elevator at the Brighton Beach station. Most but not all of the vintage train cars are wheelchair accessible. The BU Gate Cars, for example, have a significant step up from the platform. Review and download the Parade of Trains social narrative to learn more about what to expect at this popular event. For accessibility questions, email [email protected].

NYHealth Invites You to Attend a Webinar:
How Federal Budget Cuts Could Impact New York’s Public Insurance Programs
Public insurance through Medicaid, the Essential Plan, Child Health Plus, and Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans provide coverage to millions of New Yorkers. More than 9.5 million New Yorkers are enrolled in public health insurance, including nearly 8 million in Medicaid; 1.5 million in the Essential Plan; and 250,000 in ACA plans. Medicaid, in particular, is a core vehicle for coverage, jointly funded by states and the federal government. Enrollment in the program rose to historically high levels during the COVID-19 pandemic; New York State has undertaken a massive effort to preserve those gains and is also implementing new State policies to expand coverage to certain populations.   At the same time, the federal administration and Congress have proposed and are considering significant Medicaid cuts, including through the federal budget reconciliation process. Funding cuts would threaten New York’s robust public insurance infrastructure and coverage rates across communities. New York State partners from across sectors have mobilized quickly to protect and preserve coverage in New York.   Please join NYHealth for a webinar with updates on proposed federal changes and their potential impact on New York, as well as on coalition partner efforts, actions, and resources.
Speakers: Elisabeth Benjamin, Vice President, Health Initiatives, Community Service Society of New YorkLara Kassel, Coalition Coordinator, Medicaid Matters New YorkAlice Lam, Managing Director, Manatt Health StrategiesAvital Havusha, Vice President of Programs, NYHealth (moderator)  Webinar Date and Time: Monday, May 12, 20251:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.
